A Christian televangelist who harshly criticizes Islam and other religions
said Friday that his late-night program is being pulled off the air because of
pressure from a Muslim group. Earlier this month, officials from the Council on
American Islamic Relations wrote a letter to the TV station's owners asking for
an investigation of the show it broadcasts, "Live Prayer with Bill
Keller." In a May 2 broadcast, the televangelist said Islam was a
"1,400-year-old lie from the pits of hell" and called the Prophet
Mohammed a "murdering pedophile." He also called the Koran a
"book of fables and a book of lies."
The Rev. Ted Haggard, who left the megachurch he founded after admitting to
"sexual immorality," has asked supporters for financial assistance
while he and his wife pursue their studies. Mike Ware, an overseer for New Life
Church, told The Gazette of Colorado Springs on Friday that it was premature of
Haggard to release the statement without first consulting the overseers We are

The Beast surveyed the landscape called world and sent the beast of evil: It
took up life in a preacher as the beast knew like lemmings going over the cliff,
the faithful would follow, and the preacher with hate in his heart taught and
they followed as the beast rubbed his hands with glee as he knew God would not
let any with hate into heaven and these would belong to him

Yet earlier this week, Tancredo, a Colorado congressman, traveled to Newark
and stood on the steps of City Hall blaming the city's protective immigration
policies for the killings. "If the suspects are found guilty, Newark and
its political leadership share a degree of responsibility," he said.
"I encourage the family of the victims to pursue a lawsuit against the
city."
When the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego filed for bankruptcy in
February, abruptly halting multiple sex-abuse lawsuits on the eve of trial,
Michael Bang thought his chance for a day in court was gone. On Friday, a
federal bankruptcy judge revived hope for Bang, ruling that 42 cases be sent
back to state courts for immediate jury trials.
And they're becoming vocal about their frustration over longer deployments
and a taxing mission that keeps many living in dangerous and uncomfortably
austere conditions. Some say two wars are being fought here: the one the
enlisted men see, and the one that senior officers and politicians want the
world to see. "I don't see any progress. Just us getting killed," said

south of Baghdad, as Bush's speech aired last month. "I don't want to be

Until last week, "imprecatory prayer" was not in many people's
vocabularies. But then the Rev. Wiley S. Drake, pastor of the First Southern
Baptist Church of Buena Park, urged his supporters to use Psalm 109 to focus
prayers directed at the "enemies of God" -- including the leaders of
Americans United for Separation of Church and State. Under the heading,
"HOW TO PRAY," he listed all 31 verses of Psalm 109, in which King
David appeals to divine justice. Drake provided his congregation the King James
Version of the psalm, including Verse 9, which says: Let his children be
fatherless, and his wife a widow.
Despite enormous sacrifice by Americans, Cleland said in his party's radio
address, "We find ourselves mired in a civil war with no end in sight and
Iraqis unable or unwilling to make the political decisions necessary to end this
conflict."

Michael Vick can only hope he will get more leniency from the judge than he
did from the NFL. Roger Goodell's letter informing the Atlanta Falcons
quarterback of his suspension reads almost like a goodbye, the NFL commissioner
doing nothing to hide his disgust and his disdain.
