Can Fish Casserole

 

Shanna's Canned Tuna Broccoli Casserole

 

3/4 cup Casserole Sauce Mix (recipe below)
3 cups water
1/3 cup margarine
2 (7-ounce) cans tuna drained and flaked
1 (10-ounce) package frozen chopped broccoli, thawed
3 cups cooked egg noodles
1/2 cup shredded swiss or other cheese

Grease 2-quart casserole
Preheat oven to 350
Place sauce mix in medium-size saucepan
Gradually stir in water until mixture is smooth
Add margarine
Cook over medium heat. Stir constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Boil one minute
In large bowl, combine sauce, tuna, broccoli, noodles and cheese
Pour in prepared casserole dish
Bake 25 minutes or until hot and bubbly
Serves 6

Casserole Sauce Mix
2 cups instant, nonfat dry milk powder
3/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup chicken bouillon granules
4 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon each, dried thyme and basil
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

In medium bowl, combine milk powder, cornstarch, bouillon, onion powder, thyme, basil and pepper
Store at room temperature in tightly covered jar
Makes 3 cups or enough for 4 casseroles
