French Toast

 

Kat's Pear Hawaiian French Toast

3 Tbs butter
2 Tbs sugar
1/2 cup pineapple juice
2 pears (cored & thinly sliced)
French Toast (see below)
Chopped macadamia nuts
1/4 tsp fresh ginger or 1/8 tsp dry ginger

Heat butter in a skillet, add sugar and stir until melted. Stir in pineapple juice and ginger. Boil until slightly syrupy. Add pears, cook until tender for 5 to 10 minutes.

French Toast:

1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 tsp pure vanilla
Dry bread

To serve -- sprinkle with confectioners sugar, add pear sauce and top with macadamia nuts.
